Job Summary:
As a Sr. Business Systems Analyst you’ll drive the transformation of complex business needs into innovative technical solutions that power the technology platforms at NewEdge Capital Group. You’ll serve as a technical subject matter expert and a crucial bridge between business stakeholders, development teams, and external partners, ensuring our solutions are both technically sound and business aligned.
Location: Ideal candidates will be located in Pittsburgh, PA or New Orleans, LA and work in a hybrid capacity. Remote candidates will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
Business & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with business stakeholders and external partners to understand system requirements and translate into actionable technical specifications.
- Define and document functional requirements for data integration solutions between custodians, third-party software platforms, and internal systems.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to gather feedback, validate requirements, and refine solutions.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, user stories, technical specifications, API mappings, process flows, and data schemas.
- Work closely with developers, architects, and infrastructure teams to define integration strategies and system architecture.
- Support the analysis and validation of solutions post-implementation, ensuring they meet business needs and deliver expected outcomes.
Systems Analysis & Solution Design
- Create detailed technical documentation including system diagrams, data flows, and integration patterns.
- Analyze existing data flows, network architecture, and system interoperability, identifying opportunities for optimization and automation.
- Design real-time and batch data processing workflows, ensuring efficient data movement across platforms.
- Evaluate and recommend technology and third-party solutions to support strategic initiatives.
- Develop proof-of-concept implementations to validate technical approaches.
- Define technical specifications for APIs, microservices, and system interfaces.
- Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise architecture standards, compliance regulations, and security requirements.
- Work with infrastructure teams to define and improve cloud and third-party integration strategies.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, external partners, and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to leadership on integration strategies, system roadmaps, and process enhancements.
- Work closely with project managers and product managers to define project scope, timelines, and priorities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Solutions Architect, or similar technical roles.
- Expertise in system design, API architecture, and data integration.
- Proven ability to analyze complex system interactions and design scalable solutions.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Excellence in technical documentation and process modeling.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams involving developers, engineers, and infrastructure teams.
- Outstanding communication skills with both technical and business audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in wealth management, fintech, financial services, or banking.
- Experience with major custodial platforms (Fidelity, LPL, Schwab)
- Knowledge of financial data APIs, FIX protocol, and custodian integration patterns.
- Expertise with enterprise integration platforms (Boomi, Workato, Mulesoft, or similar)
- Proficiency in Salesforce ecosystem architecture (Financial Services Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud)
- Experience with the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence)
